On offer today is a beautiful Sheffield Solid Silver Bladed, Mother of Pearl Handled Letter Opener. This piece bears the Lion Passant (English Silver), the Crown (for Sheffield Assay Office) and the date letter S for 1838. The Makers Mark W.S is also present on the blade, depicting the sought after William Sansom. The deep and rich Mother of Pearl is truly magnificent and the piece is in Pristine condition.
The total length of the Letter Opener is 19 cm and the weight is 37 grammes.
