On offer today is a Sheffield Carved Mother of Pearl Handled Letter Opener. The piece bears the Lion Passant (English Silver), the Crown (for Sheffield Assay Office) and the date letter Y for 1966. The handle is Mother of Pearl, deep and rich with a range of colour reflecting in the light – truly a magnificent piece. Pristine condition. Total length 19 cm and weight 26 grammes. The piece also bears the Makers Mark S.S – the Makers Mark for the highly sought after Saunders & Shepherd. Supplied with a presentation case.
