On offer today is a London Sterling Silver handled Letter Opener. The piece is fully hallmarked bearing the Lion Passant (English Silver), the Monarch’s Head & Crown, date letter rubbed. The piece bears the Grape & Vine pattern and features a brush finish blade. Pristine condition. Having a Sampson Mordan & Co pattern book in our archives, we have seen this pattern produced by Sampson between 1850 and 1862, so the date is an estimation between these dates. Truly a beautiful piece. Total length 250mm weight 50 grammes. The piece also bears the Makers Mark SM – the Makers Mark for the highly sought after Sampson Mordan & Co. Very Rare.
