On offer today is a Sheffield Solid Silver Capped & Ferruled, Mother of Pearl Handled Letter Opener. The piece bears on both the Cap & Ferrule the Lion Passant (English Silver), the Yorkshire Rose (for Sheffield Assay Office), 925 mark and the date letter d for 2003. The handle is Mother of Pearl, deep and rich with range of colour reflecting in the light – truly a magnificent piece. Pristine condition. Total length 225mm weight 40 grammes. The piece also bears the Makers Mark YB – the Makers Mark for the highly sought after Yates Brothers. Supplied with a Wooden Presentation Case.
