Welcome to The Sheffield Cutlery Shop!
Steeped in tradition and full of character made by the most famous silversmiths of our time, James Dixon & Sons, this Equestrian Water Bottle and Lunch Box Set offers a rare glimpse into the practical elegance of a bygone era. Housed in their original leather cases, these pieces were once staples of long rides and country outings—now treasured for their heritage.
Included in the set:
-
A leather lunch bag containing a Drinking Vessel with a silver plated top and a Pewter Sandwich Box, once carried by riders for sustenance on the go.
-
A separate leather bottle case holding an additional larger Water Flask with a silver plated mouthpiece, carefully protected and beautifully aged.
While these items may no longer serve as everyday essentials, their materials and construction—Glass, Pewter, Silver Plate and hand-stitched leather—reflect a standard of quality rarely seen today. Each mark, patina, and worn edge tells part of the story of this beautiful set.
The large Glass Water Flask measures 24cm in height and weighs 310g.
The small Glass Drinking Vessel measures 12.5cm in height and weighs 198g.
The Sandwich Box measures 12cm by 7.5cm and weighs 248g.
Dating back to the 1880’s, this is more than a lunch set; it’s a collectible artefact for equestrian enthusiasts, vintage collectors, and admirers of traditional British craftsmanship. Display it with pride, or gift it as a lasting token of heritage.
