Description

Welcome to The Sheffield Cutlery Shop’s latest collection of Antique Pen/Pocket Knives!

This John Yeomans Cowlishaw penknife features perfect luminous Mother of Pearl scales and a beautifully polished Silver blade, hallmarked with the Crown, Lion Passant and date letter U for 1887. The age of this knife is shown in the presence of a Shield Inlay – created by a difficult manufacturing process using a tool called a parser. This is a skill that unfortunately has not stood the test of time.

The delicate patterning on the bolster and the skilful backwork to this piece is simply astonishing!

When fully open, the knife measures 14 cm. When closed, the knife measures 8.5 cm. The Pocket Knife weights 22 grammes.

This timeless penknife would surely grace anyone’s collection. Please see our ‘Pen Knives’ categories for more.
