Description

On offer today is a beautiful set of RARE Sterling Silver Dinner Knives & Forks bearing the Georgian Bead Pattern. As the images show, the set is in immaculate condition for its age, a timeless pattern that at 252 years old, are in truly stupendous condition.

Restored by our Master Craftsmen, each Knife and Fork is fully hallmarked with The Lion Passant for the period 1756-1795. The Makers Mark WA is also present; this can be identified as the one and only William Abdy I who registered his Silver Makers Mark mid way through 1769. We can therefore place great weight on the evidence that the set was manufactured between 1769 and 1790 (when Mr William Abdy passed away). A very old set manufactured by hand; a true testament to excellent craftsmanship. The handles are in beautiful condition as the images show and look fantastic. Hallmarks deep and clear. Blades are razor sharp and tines have little wear.

The Table Knives measure a staggering 29CMS long and weigh a heavy 100 Grammes each. The Table Forks measure 23CMS long and weigh a heavy 80 Grammes each.

This set would grace anyone’s home. A functional lot in a highly attractive pattern that cannot be replicated today. A phenomenal set as a gift that would doubtless cost an awful lot in a retail outlet today.
