This Bowie Knife has been Professionally Restored by our Wonderful Craftsmen here at the Sheffield Cutlery Shop.
This Knife features Sambar Stag Horn Handles and a twist Brass Bolster. The Carbon Steel Blade has been polished to perfection and bears all of the marks of a beautiful blade – an acid etching of ‘Self Defender’, the American Bald Eagle, ‘The Real IXL Knife’ also featuring next to the Makers Mark, F.W.James Sheffield. The blade is also marked ‘GUARANTEED HAND FORGED’ drop stamped into the ricasso. The file-work to the back of the blade is exceptional.
A Black Leather Belt Sheath is included with the purchase of this piece. The Silver Ferrule and Cap are Hallmarked with the Crown (Sheffield Assay Office), the Lion Passant (for 925. English Silver) and the date letter m for 1929. A beautiful one off piece not to be manufactured again.
The length of the blade is 8 3/4″. The total length of the knife is 32.5cm. The total weight of the knife is 310 grammes.
