Description

On offer today is a phenomenal set of  Six Pairs of Knives and Forks sterling silver heads and carved Mother of Pearl handles in pristine condition. As the photos reflect the Knives and Forks are a perfect example of what Sheffield Silversmiths could manufacture. All the knives and forks are assayed in Sheffield.

Each knife and fork are fully hallmarked for 1897 with The Lion Passant, Crown and the date stamp (e). Manufactured by the highly sought after Mappin & Webb.  The pearl handles are in great condition as the images show and look fantastic, however one does have a slight chip but not noticeable. M&W only used the finest of materials; this is shown in the rich colours of the Mother o’ Pearl & the thick gauge of the Silver Blades.

The Knives measure 18.5 CMS and weigh 40 Grammes.
The Forks measure 15 CMS and weigh 30 Grammes.

This set would grace anyones home. A functional lot in this highly attractive pattern, a great set as a gift and would doubtless cost an awful lot in a retail outlet today.

These are perfect for use all year round, easy to maintain, grasp the opportunity to be able to own this lovely set today!
