This Bowie Knife has been Professionally Restored by our Wonderful Craftsmen here at the Sheffield Cutlery Shop.
This Knife features Solid Brass Scales Mirror Polished along with a file worked Brass Bolster. The Scales feature a spread Eagle and the words ‘LIBERTY AND UNION’ near the Guard. The Carbon Steel Blade on it own is a remarkable work of art, it has been polished to perfection and bears all of the marks of a beautiful blade – an acid etching of ‘Death To Abolition’, the American Bald Eagle, ‘The Real IXL Knife’ also featuring. F.W. James Sheffield drop stamped into the ricasso. The file-work to the back of the blade is exceptional.
The original Leather Belt Sheath is included with the purchase of this piece, the tan colour of the leather contrasts fantastically with the Brass Scales of the knife. Truly an exceptional piece that must be admired in person to appreciate it’s craftsmanship – the photographs do not do this piece justice.
The length of the blade is 10″. The total length of the knife is 38cm. The total weight of the knife is 850 grammes!
