Description

On offer today is a beautiful set of RARE Georgian Sterling Silver Dinner Knives bearing the Old English Thread Pattern. As the images show, the set is in immaculate condition for its age, a timeless pattern that can be matched with most canteens.

Each knife is fully hallmarked for 1778 with The Lion Passant, Monarch’s Head (George III) and the date stamp S for 1778. This makes this set of knives a mind boggling 242 years old! A true testament to excellent craftsmanship. Manufactured by Joseph Tibbitts.  The handles are in beautiful condition as the images show and look fantastic. Hallmarks deep and clear. One has a slight split as images show but is structurally solid and incredibly strong!

The Table Knives measure 26CMS long and weigh a staggering 105 Grammes each (average). All Twelve Knives weigh approximately 1236 Grammes!

This set would grace anyone’s home. A functional lot in a highly attractive pattern that cannot be replicated today. A phenomenal set as a gift that would doubtless cost an awful lot in a retail outlet today.
