Original Wooden Presentation Case
Made in Sheffield England from Carbon Steel and Genuine Ivory. The Carving Knife measures 4ocm in length and weighs 220 grammes. The Carving Fork measures 30cm long and weighs 150 grammes with a fully integral spring loaded guard. The Carving Steel measures 35cm and weighs 250 grammes. The Game Knife Measures 33.5 cm and weighs 135 grammes, blade marked with ‘BATTLE AXE’ suggesting Firth Carbon Steel – supreme quality. Game Fork measures 28cm and weighs 133 grammes. The springs in the guards of the Carving & Game Fork are fantastic, like they were manufactured yesterday.
The end caps and ferrules are Sterling Silver, fully hallmarked for Sheffield with the Lion Passant, Crown and a variety of date letters. The Carving Knife has the letter Y for 1866, the Steel has the letter m for 1914, the carving Fork has date letter k for 1902. Both the Game Carver & Fork are hallmarked for 1909. Truly a beautiful set, fully original. Each Handle is genuine Ivory shaped and polished. Presented in the original, fantastic case. A very rare set in excellent condition that will only appreciate in value as time progresses.
