On offer today is a beautiful set of 12 Pairs of Knives and Forks Sterling Silver heads in just immaculate condition. As the photos reflect the knives and Forks are a perfect example of what Sheffield Silversmiths’ could manufacture. All the knives and forks are assayed in Sheffield.
Each knife and fork is fully hallmarked for 1863 with The Lion, Crown, Monarchs Head & date stamp (v) for 1863. Manufactured by the highly sought after Harrison Brothers & Howson (Henry Harrison). The handles are in superb condition as the images show and look fantastic. A great contrast between the pronounced work on the blades and forks, an excellent design.
The Knives measure 23 CMS and weigh 100 Grammes.
The Forks measure 19.5 CMS and weigh 85 Grammes.
One has to consider the amount of work that goes into a set such as this; the hand engraving on the blades and tines and the tireless work hand piercing the blades. These are not a run-of-the-mill set pushed through a manufacturing chain, rather a set where quality & attention was of the highest order. Something that could not be replicated today, a phenomenal set we are proud to offer.
This set would grace anyones home. A functional lot in this highly attractive pattern, a great set as a gift and would doubtless cost an awful lot in a retail outlet today.
These are perfect for use all year round, easy to maintain, grasp the opportunity to be able to own this lovely set today!
